Daniel Richman / D Rich

Raised in Oakland, California, Daniel aka D Rich fell in love with the trumpet at age nine. A singer and piano player in his earlier years, he studied music throughout elementary and middle school before playing lead trumpet in Skyline High School’s award winning jazz ensemble. A primarily self-taught musician, Daniel is a diverse listener with strong affinities for jazz and hip hop. His favorite artists include Miles Davis, The RH Factor, Tower of Power and Robert Glasper. Daniel is currently a member of UCLA’s jazz program and plays frequently throughout the LA area. A passionate advocate for social justice, Daniel believes strongly in music’s power to transcend, heal, and uplift.
