Gordon Battles / G Battles

Gordon Battles – a.k.a. G. Battles or G Saleem – is a hip hop artist from Oakland, Ca. Battles got his start in music early with the group West Coast Villanz in middle school. Sticking with music through high school, Battles released mix tapes with rap group Block Hittaz while playing talent shows and open mics. Battles has played many shows throughout the West Coast in venues such as the DNA lounge in San Francisco and the Viper Room in Los Angeles. He has shared stages with Bay Area Veterans such as Rappin’ 4tay and Shock G from Digital Underground. Battles is the third addition to the group High Decibels from Oakland, Ca. Releasing the EP “Cut Loose” with High Decibels and Rolling Jack Records, he signed his first licensing contract with Rip Tide Music, landing him placements in 2011 on televisions shows such as One Tree hill, 90210, Parenthood and Entourage. Battles is currently working on his first solo project, which will be available in 2012.
